Janice Elsie Soll was born on December 17, 1942, to Clarence and Elsie (Schneller) Schiernbeck in rural Denison, IA. Janice lived a life filled with dedication, compassion, and an unwavering support for those she loved.

Janice was confirmed and baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, marking an important milestone in her life. This spiritual foundation guided her throughout the years, serving as a testament to her character and the values she upheld.

On September 2, 1961 she united in marriage to William Soll and the couple was blessed with the birth of three children. In her earlier years, Janice played a significant role in the trucking industry alongside her husband, William, helping to drive trucks and bolster his business. As a homemaker Janice was a whirlwind of activity—she managed the Carroll County Club for a time and thrived on keeping herself busy. Her social nature shone through in her interactions, as she was always moving and engaging with others, forming bonds and friendships that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

Janice's love extended far beyond her work; she was a devoted mother and grandmother, always prioritizing the needs of her family. She took great care in enrolling her daughter, Cindy, in various pageants, showcasing her belief in nurturing the talents and ambitions of her loved ones. Her heartwarming affection was also reserved for her cherished Yorkie dog, Macy, along with Elsa and Dutchess, who brought joy into her home.

Cooking was another passion of Janice’s; she was well-known for her culinary skills. Her specialties included hearty meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and delicious ribs. While baking was not her forte aside from pumpkin bars, her ability to create comforting meals made her a beloved figure at family gatherings.

Janice will be remembered not just for her remarkable abilities and accomplishments, but for her profound impact on the lives of her family and friends. Her spirit of care and devotion will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Denison Care Center having attained the age of 81 years, nine months, and 14 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children’s father, William Soll; sisters: Joyce Hagge, Diane Hoffmeier, and Darlene Hast; and brothers, Richard and Clarence Schiernbeck. Survivors include her children: Terry (Joy) Soll of Denison, IA, Brian Soll of Charter Oak, IA, and Cindy (Dave) Kroll of Omaha, NE; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Vernon (Carol) Schiernbeck.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Burial will take place in the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
