Gary R. Soll, 62, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1962 to Mary (Immel) and Richard L. “Dick” Soll in Fond du Lac, WI.

Gary grew up in Fond du Lac and graduated from Goodrich HS in 1982. He then joined the family business at Searl Inc. Gary and Amy also owned Diamond Dave’s for a number of years. He was a proud member of the FDL Noon Optimists, Elks Lodge #57, and a prominent and giving member of his community. Although he had asthma, he never let that be an excuse for him to not do anything. He married his best friend, Amy Backhaus, and together they spent 32 years happily married. Gary was a devoted Packer and Brewer fan, loved to travel, and go camping with friends, rain or shine. Gary and Amy were also long-term Vic Ferrari Band followers.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Soll and their fur babies Piper and Molly who were the light of his life; his mother, Mary E. Soll; his siblings, Jeff (Deb), Tony (Peg), and Janine (Chad); nieces, Abby (JD) and Alex (Shane); nephews, Matt (Rachel), Nick (Andrea), Jake, Ben, RJ (Elizabeth); and six great nieces and nephews. He is further survived and mourned by many other close family & friends.

Preceding him in death where his grandparents, father, and Amy’s parents, Loran & Betty Backhaus.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced.
