Helen Marie Patricia Zgiet Wootten, 93, passed away on July 13, 2025. Born in St. Louis on September 27, 1931, to Polish immigrants Alexander and Wladyslana (Laura) Zgiet, she was the youngest of nine children.

Helen married Robert R. Wootten in 1953, and together they built a loving home in Florissant, Missouri, raising five children: Robert Jr. (Kevin Comerford, Barbara), Thomas (Cathy), Randall, Laura (Michael Williams), and Steven (Laura).

She was a proud grandmother to Jessica (Asha), Emily (Lauren), Thomas Jr. (Kara), Maggie (Jonathan Price), Katie (Nick Brabon), Chelse, Trevor, Connor, Jack, Clare, and Max (Megan). Her great-grandchildren include Lenore, Harrison, Thea, Lincoln, Grady, Isaac, Elijah, and Teddy.

Helen’s final years were filled with care and compassion. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Clarendale of St. Peters—especially Kelly, Tracey, Colleen, Aylana, Debra, Raquel, and Cheryl—and to those at Solace Hospice, with a special thanks to Brenda and Kelly.

Helen’s life was a gift. She was—and will always be—our beloved mom.

A celebration of Helen’s life will follow with lunch at Bartolino's South located at 5914 S Lindbergh Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63123.
