Helmuth C Hercher

Helmuth C Hercher (also known as Joe), age 77 of Millersville MD, passed away on May 16, 2025 after a 7 year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Hercher, of 54 years along with his three sons David Hercher of Utah, Daniel Hercher (wife Erika Hercher) of Church Hill, MD. and Darren Hercher (wife Debbie Hercher) of Millersville, MD. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Liam Hercher, Wesley Hercher, Warren Hercher, Carter Hercher, Kaitlynne Hercher and Aubrey Hercher.
Born in Germany to Joseph and Ruth Hercher, Joe is preceded in death by both parents along with his sister Hilda Cheron. He is survived by his brother Hans Hercher and sister Sabina Gaskill. Helmuth served in the U.S.N.R. and the Metropolitan Police department in Washington, D.C. from which he retired from both. He concluded his working years having his own business in tax and accounting.
A small service is being held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville on Friday, June 6th at 1pm.
A celebration of life follows at the family's home in Millersville from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
