Henrietta "Henrie" Lowe, a beacon of laughter and love, soared to the great giggle fest in the sky on February 15, 2025. Born on November 18, 1968, in the bustling city of Detroit, MI, Henrie was the embodiment of joy and the architect of her own happiness. She left this world in Grand Rapids, MI, after a dance-off with heart failure and Lupus, where, in true Henrie fashion, she surely had the last laugh.
Henrie was the life of every party and the heart of her family. She was a sister extraordinaire to Louise Kidd, Cassandra Lowe, Cherlvise Lowe, Yordora Lowe Ballard, and Leona Robinson. A mother beyond compare to MercyDiaz Lowe and Harmoni Garcia, and the coolest grandma to Sydney, Jelena, Melody, Dewand Jr, and Lyric. Her nieces and nephews - Shana, Dejuan, Paris, Jerel, Gregory, Kauai, Angel, and Audrey - knew her as the fun aunt who could turn any frown upside down. Henrie also shared an unbreakable bond with Erika Vann and Terry Simmons. They were true partners in crime!
A proud graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of '86, Henrie was both the class clown and the curious cat. Her thirst for knowledge led her to dip her toes into culinary arts and automotive engineering, because why just cook the meals when you can also fix the car you drive to the grocery store? Later, Henrie sharpened her pencils and her mind at ITT, where she completed a course in business management, adding yet another feather to her cap.
Henrie's career was as varied as her interests. She brought smiles to faces at the Woodland movie Theater, kept things growing at J.R. Simplot, and nurtured young minds at Kentwood Public Schools as an ARCH activity leader. Each job was a stage, and Henrie never failed to entertain and inspire.
When she wasn't working, Henrie was living life in the fast lane - on roller skates. She glided through life with grace and a dash of mischief. Her passion for cooking meant her kitchen was always filled with the aromas of her latest culinary adventure, and her laughter. Traveling was another of Henrie's loves, stamping her passport with memories and leaving a trail of chuckles in her wake. Music was the soundtrack of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her family, turning even the most mundane days into a series of comic strips.
Selfless is an understatement when it comes to describing Henrie. She was a woman who would give you the shirt off her back, then joke about you looking better in it. Her humor was as infectious as a viral cat video, and her courage was the stuff of legends - facing life's challenges with a grin and a punchline. Henrie was a walking sitcom, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
