Henry Wilson Anderson, 79, of Oakboro, North Carolina, moved to his heavenly home very unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, February 8, 2023.
Henry was born in Oakboro on October 27, 1943 to the late Billie Adam Anderson and the late Veda Mae Carpenter Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Monday, February 13, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Gerald Baucom. Burial will follow at the Smith Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 25711 Old School Road, Oakboro.
Henry graduated from Oakboro High School in 1962 where he loved playing basketball and baseball. He served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1970. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart Lynette Whitley. He worked in the scale industry in Charlotte for several years. He then opened Industrial Scale Company in Oakboro, NC which was in operation from 1988 through 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette Anderson; sons, Travis Anderson and Neil Anderson; grandchildren, Colton Anderson and Marshall Anderson; great-grandsons, Caden, Camden, and Cash; sisters, Janice Williams, Geneva Austin, and Hazel Palmer and brothers, David Anderson and Adam Anderson.
Henry was preceded in death by one sister, Wyndola Godwin and one brother, Fred Anderson.
Henry's main focus in life was studying God's word and becoming closer and more knowledgeable of that wonderful Word. He taught several Bible study groups and loved to talk to anyone about the Word. Psalm 116:15. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Memorials may be made to Smith's Grove Community Cemetery Fund, C/O of Evelyn Burgess, 24082 Barbee's Grove Road Oakboro, NC 28129.
