Henry Martin Clevenger was born on October 8th 1950 to Samuel Franklin Clevenger and Gracie Arlene Pesnell-Clevenger in Cleveland, AL while they were living in nearby Oneonta, AL. Henry is predeceased by his brothers Howard Clayton and Grady Houston Clevenger.
Henry is survived by his wife, Dorothy Owens-Clevenger; her daughter, Sandra Shipley; son-in-law, Roy Jonathan; their daughter, Lori Roberson; Dorothy's son, Ron Morgan and predeceased by Dorothy's daughter, Beverly.
Henry is further survived by his sister Bertha Gayle Clevenger-Atherton and her husband, Thom Trunnell; by his sister-in-law, Brenda Davis-Clevenger; his nephew, Adam Clevenger; by his great nieces and nephew, Presley, Lindsey, Mackenzie and Dylan; his nieces, Charla and Mary Clevenger; his sister-in-law, Carol Musto-Clevenger and nephews, Wyatt and Dallas Clevenger and their families.
Henry was employed for several years by John Deere as a highly skilled diesel mechanic. Henry was a skilled carpenter and woodworker. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. Henry was a true renaissance man and jack of all trades. He could fix anything. He was always willing to help his neighbor and fellow man. Henry loved his wife, Dorothy and was a committed husband. Henry never met a stranger. The first thing anyone noticed when meeting Henry for the first time was the infectious smile in his face. He was personable, easy to get to know and he had a big heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with Henry, all of his family and of him now in paradise with our Lord and Savior.
Please gather with his family for a grave side service at Welsh-Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek, TN, at 1 PM on Saturday, October 18th. Please sign in with a memory to share in the book with the family at the service.
