Henry L. Geneman, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home, with Randi Geneman presiding. Relatives and friends may gather at the Hafemeister Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to UP River Church in Iron River, MI.
Henry Louis Geneman, Sr. was born on February 11, 1941, in Saginaw, MI, the son of Carl Geneman and Lillian Bell Griffin. He married the former Judith Hall on February 11, 1958, in Saginaw. Together, they lovingly raised eleven children. Henry worked as a foundryman at Wisconsin Centrifical in Waukesha and later served the Town of Florence performing roadwork.
Henry was a dedicated member of UP River Church in Iron River, MI. A lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and the excitement of stock car racing, proudly competing as driver #121. His enthusiasm for classic automobiles endured throughout his life-his first car was a 1951 Chevy 2-door, and he was recently thrilled to acquire a 1952 model of the same make. He also found joy in motorcycle riding. Most of all, Henry treasured time spent with his family.
He is survived by his children: Henry Geneman Jr., Cherie Powers, Carl (Dawn) Geneman, Steve (Randi) Geneman, Tony (Peggy) Geneman, Jeannette (Jerry) Mittelstadt, Violet Geneman, and Teresa Geneman; daughter-in-law, Teresa Geneman; son-in-law, Brian Wahl; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Jim (Linda) Geneman, Diane Geneman, Kathy Kiel, and Robert "Rick" Geneman; his beloved dogs, Penny and Buddy; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, on March 31, 2024; his parents; sons, Jeffrey Geneman and Matthew Geneman; daughter, Laura Wahl; and brother, John Geneman.
