Henry L. Gronstedt, age 91, of Jefferson City, formerly of Versailles, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born May 3, 1934, in Prairie Home, Missouri, a son of the late Martin and Olive (Ellison) Gronstedt.
He attended school in Otterville, Missouri. Henry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956.
In March of 1958, he married Vandra Herron, who preceded him in death. Later, on September 24, 1966, he was united in marriage to Byronita Lutman, who survives at the home.
Henry worked at Union Electric as a lineman and troubleshooter for many years until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Byronita, he is survived by his brother, Karl Gronstedt; son, Richard Gronstedt (Deb); daughters, Cindy Schoenlaub (Paul), Kathy Thurman (Steve) and Cara Wright (Thomas); grandchildren, Melody Oxley (Tyler), Brett Gates (Anna), Kristin Chamberlain, Kendall Chamberlain, Alex Meyer, Lida Ryan (Brock), Dalton Wright and Matthew Wright; great-grandchildren, Kaden Lippold, Kamryn Lippold, Dyer Oxley and Lily Oxley and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Gronstedt and Sam Gronstedt, sisters, Isobel Pressley, Rose Lewis and Dorothy Wood and a grandson, David Wray Gronstedt.
There are no services planned at this time. Inurnment will be held in the Versailles Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or Central Missouri Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
