Funeral services for Henry Michael Ivy, age 75, of Monroe will be held 2:00 PM Saturday March 8, 2025 from the sanctuary of Olla First Baptist Church. His cousin, Terri Corley, who was like a sister, will deliver the eulogy and Bro. Dennis Baker will be bringing the message. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla. The Ivy Family will receive visitors on Saturday at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Henry Michael "Mike" Ivy was born on November 16, 1949, at Winnfield, LA, to the union of his beloved parents, Jessie Hugh "Tinkus" Ivy, Jr. and Alva Jean "Jennie" Allbritton Ivy, and he passed from this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his residence in Monroe following an extended illness.
Before Mike's physical condition limited him he was a hard-working man in the logging woods. His desire to return to the woods never diminished. In his down time he loved to fish and loved hunting, but the greatest joy of his life was to spend time with his grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Williams; his in-laws, Norman and Joyce Stott; and his nephew, Scott Doughty.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife, Brenda Stott Ivy of Monroe; his son, Michael Ivy (Renee) of Monroe and their children, Ashton and Isabele; his daughter, Melanie Johns of Monroe and her children, Zach Ivy and Emma Johns; his sister, Francis Doughty of Urania; his nephew, Chad Doughty (Nikki) and their children, Haden, Beau and Ellie; grandson, Tatum Chance; and a great-grandson, Drake Chance.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Allbritton, Chad Doughty, Haden Doughty, J. L. Chance, Tatum Chance and Bryson. Honorary pallbearers include Gene Franklin, Randy Stott, Rickey Stott, Robert Ivy and Denny Boyette.
