Henry J. Wiatrek Jr.

Henry John Wiatrek Jr. age 82 of Poth, Texas entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Henry was born in Pandora, Texas on June 28, 1941, to parents Henry Wiatrek Sr. and Mary Felux Wiatrek. Henry attended school at Denhawken Community School, St. Gerard's Catholic School, and Poth ISD. He married Dorothy Kroll on February 2, 1963 at Blessed sacrament Church in Poth, Texas where he was a lifelong member.
After graduating from Poth High School, Henry worked at Swift Packing Company in San Antonio, Texas and then became co-owner of Wiatrek, Dunn and Kutac Meat Market in Poth, Texas. Henry was an avid hunter, animal lover and sports fan. He enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Henry loved horses and tending to his cattle.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Dorothy Kroll Wiatrek, of Poth; their children, Keith Wiatrek (Elsa), Stacie Albert (Eric), Lisa West (Wesley); son-in-law, Kevin Kallies; grandchildren, Colton Kallies (Tara), Tyler Kallies (fiance Emily Leger), Alyssa Martin (Corbin), Joshua Wiatrek, Aaron Wiatrek, Caleb Albert, Dathan Albert, Makenna Albert, Brooklyn Albert, Sawyer Albert, Connor West, Madison West, and Olivia West; great-grandchildren, Cambrey Wiatrek, Karsyn Wiatrek, Bryce Kallies, Brooks Kallies, Braxton Martin, and Sage Martin; step-grandson Albert Casto; brother, Jim Wiatrek (Elaine); sister, Jackie Kutac (Raymond); sister-in-law, Mary Rose Wiatrek; brother-in-law, John Kroll, Jr.; sister-in-law, Carolyn Kroll; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Kallies; parents, Henry and Mary Wiatrek; mother and father-in-law, John and Pearl Kroll; sister, Peggy Dunn and husband George Dunn; brother, David Wiatrek; niece, Shawna Wiatrek; brother in-law, Tommy Kroll; and sister-in-law, Arlene Kroll.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Poth, Texas. The Rosary will be recited there at 10:30 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, also held in the church. Father Damian Jaje will officiate. Interment will be held at Blessed sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Colton Kallies, Bryce Kallies, Tyler Kallies, Joshua Wiatrek, Aaron Wiatrek, Caleb Albert, Dathan Albert, Sawyer Albert, and Connor West.
