Henry Wright

Henry Wright, 78, of Oakes, ND passed away on August 9, 2025 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Henry Allen Wright was born January 19, 1947 to Keith and Arlette (Daurmont) Wright in Stuart, FL. He grew up and went to school in Rouses Point, NY before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in November 6, 1973. Henry married Marian Long on May 11, 1973 in Champlain, NY. They had two children, Melinda and Alexander. They later moved to Hansboro, ND where they raised their children and Henry worked as an EMT in Rolla, ND and Belcourt, ND. Henry and Marian moved to Oakes, ND in 2012 where they lived until his death. Henry had taught many classes over the years, EMT and CPR classes along with hunter's safety courses. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved fixing guns. He was a 4-H leader and raised rabbits for show. He and his family participated in many shows over the years. Henry had a love of camping, first with his family and later in life he and Marian worked for 6 years as campground hosts. He is survived by his wife, Marian; children, Melinda (Chris) Hall, Wahpeton, ND and Alexander Long-Wright, Jamestown, ND; and brother, Marc Wright. Henry was preceded in death by his parents. Henry will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point, NY on September 18, 2025. Memories may be shared and viewed here.
