Herbert "Bert" Kernaghan Obituary
Herbert “Bert” C. Kernaghan, age 80, a lifelong Romeo resident passed away on January 12, 2026 the son of Herbert and Jane. Bert was a graduate of Romeo High School the class of 1963. Over the years he owned and operated businesses in tri county area including a landscape company along with a roofing company. He loved to go up north to his cottage in Lewiston, Michigan which was built by his son and him. It was there up north where he would love to hunt and fish.
Bert is survived by his one and only child Todd (Jennifer) of Richmond and you would often hear him say that “Todd was his world and the sun rose and set on him”. Sister Edith (Ron) McVeigh of Washington Twp. Nephews Jeff and Tom Motoligin. Niece Shelly Motoligin-LeMire. He was preceded in death by his lifelong partner Denise Jago.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 5 PM with Sister Val of St. Clement Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 1 to 6 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
