Herbert E. Bollman, age 85, of Lanark, IL, went home to heaven on February 9, 2026.
Herb was born on January 11, 1941 in Dixon, IL, the son of Herbert L. and Leila (Fiscel) Bollman. He graduated from Polo High School in 1959. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines from 1964 to 1966, and then was stationed at Vintage Hill Farm in Virgina from 1966 to1967. On June 12, 1970, Herb married Sunday Keener, in Randolph, OH. He would go on to attend Moody Bible Institute, University of Illinois – Chicago campus, and Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned his Master’s in Theology, in 1978.
Herb pastored several churches during his 40 plus years in ministry, including churches in Ashton, IL, Wyoming, MI, St. Anne, IL, Freeport, IL, and Lanark, IL. He retired from the pastorate in 2020.
Herb was a farm-boy at heart who never lost his love for the country; including his many dogs, his appreciation for the unique aroma of pigs, motorcycle rides on his Suzuki over the backroads, and apple pies. He could be a stubborn, ornery German but he loved God, his family, books, writing letters, and serving.
Surviving Herb are his wife, Sunday; son Jonathan (Rozilen) Bollman; daughter Heather Bollman; son Andrew (Marianne) Bollman; grandchildren Judah, Ella, Anne, and James; sisters Betty Bollman Swalve and Marilyn Bollman Melvin; brother-in-law Tom Scott; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m, at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Lanark. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Dixon, IL at Chapel Hill Memoria Gardens
Memorial donations in Herb’s memory will go to Grace Covenant Ministries (formerly Jackson County Ministries), Annville, KY.
