Herbert "Herb" Collins

Herbert Collins, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Concord, California.

He was born on September 15, 1942, in Middletown, Ohio. Herbert proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army for 21 years, retiring in 1981 with an honorable discharge. Following his military career, he continued his service to the community through more than 20 years with the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a supervisor at the Walnut Creek Post Office.

Herbert was a member of the Vallejo Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Shriners. He had a deep love for genealogy and enjoyed researching family history, as well as cheering on his beloved Golden State Warriors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Leilani; his daughter, Myra Pasquale, and her husband, Steve; his sister, Ellen Ellis, and her husband, Thomas; and his brother, Herman Edward Collins and his wife Alta and many nieces and nephews. .

Graveside services with military honors will be held at a later date at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.

Herbert will be remembered for his dedication to family, country, and community, and for the quiet strength and integrity with which he lived his life.
