Herbert Lee Glover Jr., aged 67, passed away on January 8, 2024. Born on July 31, 1956, in Long Island, New York, to Mary Gill Glover and the late Herbert L. Glover Sr.
He was the beloved husband of Juanita Sowell-Glover and the devoted father of Christy Kelly-Castleberry (Rob), Thomas Sowell, and Marquise Sowell (Deceased). Herbert was a cherished grandfather to Jaelyn and Chloe Kelly, and his family meant the world to him.
Herbert, the oldest of seven siblings, was a dear brother to Morris Glover, Harriet Glover, Pamela Harris (Deceased), John Glover (Martisha), Michelle Davis, and Dwayne Glover. His role as a treasured uncle extended to Maurice Glover, Chenise Jones, Clarisa Owens (Akeem), Armand Harris, Charde Harris (Deceased), Martinez Glover, Ve'Shaun Glover, Tarell Davis, Mario Davis, Suyin Foster, and Andrea Robinson.
Educated in Cleveland Public Schools, Herbert graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1975. Following his education, he embarked on a career, working for Allen Bradley in Wilson Mills and contributing to his family's hauling business alongside his father.
Herbert had a passion for watching Westerns, cars, music, and old movies. His interests reflected a life well-lived, filled with diverse experiences and a genuine appreciation for the simple joys. In his memory, his family and friends will carry forward the love and fond memories they shared with him throughout the years. Herbert Lee Glover Jr. will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of Homegoing Service at 11:30 a.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
