Herbert Takakjian 94, of Hasbrouck Heights formerly of Union City passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA. to the late Paul and Florence Takakjian. Herbert was an Army veteran during the Korean War and a member of James B. Scarr American Legion Post 106 in Hasbrouck Heights. Before retiring, he was a photo engraver for Walker Prismatic in New York City. Beloved husband of 65 years to Adrine (nee Papazian) Takakjian. Devoted father of Laura O'Leary and her husband Kevin, Amy Murray and her husband Thomas and the late Janet Takakjian. Dear brother of the late Paul, Jack and Richard Takakjian. Brother-in-law of Mary Proodian. Loving grandfather of Danielle and Jessica O'Leary and Kate and Anna Murray. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, January 4th at 10 AM. Funeral Service at St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn at 11:30 AM. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Friday, January 3rd from 3 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
