Funeral services for Herbert Williams, 86, will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens North Cemetery in Blanchard, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Kevin Young.
Herbert was born on December 16, 1937 to William Penn and Carrie Mae Williams in Oak Grove, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Herbert was a resident of Shreveport and graduated from Pioneer High School. He was married to the love of his life, Opal Williams, for 66 years, leaving behind a family legacy that loved him dearly. He worked in construction his entire life. His passion was horses, and he was someone that could always make you laugh. He will be terribly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, and one son. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Opal Williams; sisters, Alice Meziere and Carolyn Mariche; sons, Scott Williams and wife, Teresa, Mickey Williams and wife, Elaine, Jimmy Williams and wife, Dana; daughter, Melissa Reneau and husband, Dustin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honoring Herbert as pallbearers will be grandsons, Clay Williams, Allen Williams, Ron Williams, Jr., Jake Williams, Devin Williams, and Jason Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Meziere and Bubba Stewart.
