Herman Albrecht Obituary
Herman was a graduate of Wausau High School class of 1949. He served in the Army National Guard for 14 years, including a year of active duty during the Berlin Wall Crisis.
On April 30, 1983, he was united in marriage to Alma Clay. She survives and resides in Mattoon.
Herman worked for the DC Everest School District as a custodian. Through the years he resided in Schofield, Wausau, Antigo, and Birnamwood for the past 43 years.
Herman's hobbies included hunting, golfing, and taking care of their home. Above all he treasured his wife and family.
Survivors in addition to his wife Alma include his children: Dale Albrecht of Weston, Larry Albrecht of Wausau, Patrick (Catherine) Albrecht of Weston, Bobbie Jo (Dan) Lutzow of Wausau, Austin Clay (Savanna) of Aniwa, 5 step children: Kathy (Erro) Straw of Gleason, Franklin (Debra) Henry of Wausau, Gail (Jim) Reid of Green Bay, Margie (Mike) Peterlick of Antigo, Georgette Henry of Marathon City, a sister Marlyn (Ken) Trinkner of DePere, 25 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, his stepdaughter Barb Kramer, a brother Morris Albrecht, sister-in-law Gertrude, and a grandson Billy DeHart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Church of Christ. Reverend Wes Jedras will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the service at the church.
Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery, 171006 Cty Rd N, Ringle WI 54471 with military honors at 2:00 PM.

My deepest condolences. I so enjoyed working with Herman at Riverside Elementary. I appreciated his sense of humor, his willingness to help me out, and his patience in teaching me when I was seriously struggling. At Halloween, I had put a No Broom Parking sign on a wall in my room. Overnight, a broom showed up. My fourth graders thought it should be given a ticket. The next day, a quarter was taped to the ticket. The kids roared with laughter. The culprit: Herman. I often worked on the weekend when the heat was turned down, and I was even cold during school days when the heat was up. Herman showed me how to turn it up. (Thanks, Herman!) On the last day of my first year at Riverside, we had a golf outing at Maple Hills. Somehow, I was put in a group with the two phy. ed. teachers and Herman. They were all very patient. Herman taught me how to get on a green with something that I only remember as the ice cream scoop. I used it many times after that. He will be missed.
