Herman M. Carpenter, 90, died Monday, July 15, 1991 at Bath County Community Hospital.
He was born October 31, 1900 at Bolar, a son of Joseph Wilson and Margaret Della Frances (Armstrong) Carpenter. He was a retired farmer.
On August 11, 1926 he married Mary (Trimble) Bussard. He was a member of Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Garland W. Carpenter of Bolar; a sister, Hazel B.. Reynolds of Burnsville; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by four children; Stanley Harper, Ray Herman, Norma Irene and Eldon Walker Carpenter.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Valley Bethel Church by the Rev. James Wiley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Robertson, Ronnie Liptrap, David Liptrap, Dale Bussard, Tommy Terry and Duane Ruckman.
