Jack Carpenter

Jack Carpenter, 68, of Brighton, passed away on Tuesday, February 17 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, He was a retired truck driver having spent most of his life working for Jimmy T. Woods Trucking in Ripley before working at Taylor Trucking in Brighton.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found his greatest joy in his grandchildren. He loved making them laugh and was always happiest when he was spoiling them with candy and treats. He had a deep appreciation for working with his hands and could often be found outside, happiest when building and fixing things. He loved his dogs and cherished every opportunity to gather with his brothers, sharing stories, laughter, and lifelong bonds. He will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, and the joy he brought to those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Stacey Carpenter; one son, Owen (Chassity) Carpenter of Brighton; one daughter, Brandi (David) Warmath of Brighton; four brothers, Don Carpenter of Drummonds, William Carpenter of Brighton, Perry Lumbert of Muskegon, MI and Rick Jennings of Muskegon, MI; one sister, Jane Jennings of Tiptonville, TN; six grandchildren, Tori Carpenter, Emma Warmath, Olivia Warmath, Amaris Carpenter, Brenleigh Carpenter and Charleigh Carpenter; one great grandson, Liam Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Edward and Elizabeth Jennings Carpenter; his first wife, Brenda Carpenter and one brother, Jim Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 19 at the funeral home.
