Journey Remembered

Herman Forest, Sr., better known as "SKIP" was one of the ten children born to the union of Aaron Forest, Sr. and Leola Fields Forest on April 23, 1964. He was baptized many years ago under the leadership of the late Reverend N. T. Calvin at Greater Saint Peter Baptist Church in New Roads, Louisiana which instilled strong Christian values and faith in God into him.
He was a graduate of Rosenwald High School Class of 1983. Shortly after finishing school. he began work as a welder/pipe fitter at Trinity Marine Products and Verret Shipyard for many years until his health started to decline.
He was a fun and loving person, had a joke for every occasion. He was a genuine, humble, and caring person. Loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family.
Herman departed this life on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Herman leaves his most cherish memories to his three sons; St. Julian Baranco, Herman Forest, Jr. (Tenisha) Joshua Forest (Asia) and one daughter, Derricka Parker; God blessed him with eleven grandchildren, four brothers, Aaron Jr. (Leila), Calvin Sr. (Gloria), Linell (Beverly), Russell Sr., (Lisa), two sisters-in-law, Martha Forest and Romona Forest; four aunts, Nora Butler, Helen Myles, Louise Wilson and Rasheda Fields; one uncle, Charles Fields; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Sr. and Leola Forest; grandparents, Mary Jack, Adam Fields, Sr., Joseph and Evelina Forest; his beloved granddaughter, Jazzimane Woods (Forest), four brothers, Emile, George Sr., Clyde and Allen Forest; one beloved sister, Mary Ann Forest (Terrance), one half brother Charles L. Bergeron.
