Herman Kopplin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2025.
Herman William Kopplin, aged 70, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Spokane, Washington. Born on August 5, 1954, Herman's life was marked by his dedication to his Lord, family, career, and his community.

Herman retired as a heavy equipment mechanic and fabricator at Spokane Airport and also as a firefighter and station Captain with Cheney Fire District 3. He attended several churches including South Hill Bible Church, Westside Church, Valley Point Church, Downriver Church, and City Church.

He had an Associate of Applied Science degree in heavy equipment at Spokane Community College, which fueled his long-standing career. Known for his humor, laughter, and intelligence, Herman was beloved by his family, and the communities he touched. He was a skilled storyteller and "wrench spinner," always ready to pass on his knowledge of cars and construction to his grandchildren, whom he told each one that they were his very favorite.

Herman is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcel, his sister Mae, his children Pete (Becky) and Stephanie (Justin), and his six grandchildren Timothy (Jess), Ethan (Autumn), Hailey, Ben, Emily, Charlie, as well as several bonus grandchildren. His family includes numerous nephews and nieces, with nephew Devin (Wendy) notably mentioned. He was preceded in death by his parents Martha and Gregor, and brothers Paul and James.

A celebration of Herman's life will be held on his 49th wedding anniversary, July 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Timberview Church, 15511 N Howe Rd, Mead, WA 99021. The service will also be celebrating his wedding anniversary.

The family requests donations be made in the form of loving your family and your Lord, honoring Herman's legacy to his family.

And Herman, if you are reading this, yes, you are dead....
