Herman W. “Sonny” Kreutzer, 90, of West Liberty, passed away Tuesday evening, August 19, 2025, at his home.
Herman was born on August 29, 1934, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Herman Louis Kreutzer and Alice (Little) Kreutzer. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Lynn Ulsh; son-in-law Kevin Ulsh; 2 grandchildren: Ashley Kay Cooney and Andrew Joseph Cooney; and siblings: Alice Balliant, Martha Jane Kreutzer, William Kreutzer, and Arlene Nickerson.
Herman married Barbara A. Montgomery on May 7, 1960, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and she survives in West Liberty. He is also survived by children: Kathryn Louise Cooney of Bellefontaine, Kevin Allen (Lisa) Kreutzer of Corona, California, and Herman Dennis (Kathy) Kreutzer of West Liberty; a granddaughter Nicole Lee (Eric) Hess; and several nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Herman served from 1954 – 1958. He worked at the General Motors Ontario Stamping Plant for nearly 33 years, before retiring in 1992. Herman enjoyed watching the National Football League, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. Herman loved being outdoors and tinkering in the yard. In his younger years, he played softball, and later coached girls softball in Ontario.
There will be no services at this time for Herman.
