Herman Joseph Waldman, age 86, of West Bend, WI and formerly of Williamsport, PA, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Herman, was born on May 19, 1938 in Collomsville, Pennsylvania to the late William C. and Martha C. (nee Fischer) Waldman, Sr. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Williamsport and graduated in the class of 1956. Herm was united in marriage to Vera L. Sherwood on October 10, 1959 at Immaculate Conception Church in Bastress, Pennsylvania. Herm was a proud Army Reservist, serving six years.
Professionally, Herm was a talented salesman and manager. He sold uniforms with Penn Garment Company and sold office equipment with Phillips Supply House, Inc. In his personal endeavors, Herm loved to travel the United States, and he always said there is so much to see here in America, that there was no need to travel to another country. He especially loved seeing many historical attractions in each state - every trip included history! Hunting, fishing, and kicking back to watch his Phillies play baseball were other favorite ways to spend his time. Above all, Herm held his church near and dear to him, and had a true servant’s heart that made him go out of his way to help people. He was our beloved patriarch, and he will be missed beyond words.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Vera; his daughter, Jenny (Adam) Baker; four grandchildren, Kaleb (Cyen) Baker, Joshua Baker, Samuel Baker, and Ava Baker; two sisters, Mary Magdalena “Lena” Anderson, and Teresa Staib.
Herm was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Cletus Waldman, Emil Waldman, John Waldman, William Waldman Jr., Vincent Waldman, and Mildred (Sister Cletus) Waldman.
A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
