Hermine Simmons Obituary
Hermine Simmons, daughter of the late Philip and Ludmilla Hodl was born on January 17, 1942 in Austria, then moved with her family to Germany at age three. She departed her life on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
She was a former employee of Thorngate in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, and a resident of Oran.
On May 14, 1960 she was united in marriage to Paul Jerome Simmons in Germany. After his service in Germany, they moved to Oran, Missouri where they raised their family. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2013.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Connie Simmons of St. Louis, Missouri; a son, Joseph Jerome Simmons of Oran; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother; six sisters; also, by other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Simmons; two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 until 12:00 noon at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 noon at the funeral home Chapel with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Morley.
Family request that memorials be made to Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
