Mary Jane Hatley, daughter of the late R.M. Smith and Alfreda (Wood) Stacy was born on October 19, 1947 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed her life on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at her residence in Oran, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

She was a former supervisor at Good Humor-Breyers Company in Sikeston, Missouri and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses-South Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family especially the granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

On May 23, 1969 she was united in marriage to Michael “Mike” Hatley in Matthews, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2025.

Survivors include two daughters, Stacey (Ronnie) Brawner of Oran and Robin Chism of Sikeston, Missouri; three granddaughters, Kristin Schuchart, Sherina Sharp, and Harley Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Madelyn Schuchart, Evan Schuchart, Olivia Schuchart, Landon sharp, Emily sharp, Gabby Hargrove, Evie Thomas, and Micah Gean Thomas; one sister, Joyce Nevol of Nacogdoches, Texas; also, by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral service will then be conducted at 6:00 PM with Darline Brown speaking.
