Herschel Dillon Lee, Jr., of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on December 29, 2024. Herschel was born on January 25, 1948, in Washington, D.C. to parents Herschel Dillon Lee and Helen Marie (Rezac) Lee. He was a lifelong resident of Alexandria.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Erin (Knight) Lee and his five children, Dillon Lee (Gina), Dennis Lee (Carrie), Michael Lee (Sarah), Meghan Edwards (Jason), and Daniel Lee (Stephanie) and twelve grandchildren – Thomas, Nicholas, Patrick, Anna, Madeline, Abigail, Joseph, Benjamin, Caleb, Michael, Emma, and April. He is also survived by his sister Adele Brewer (Robert) and many in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Linda Marie Wolford.
Herschel was respected for his impressive mechanical knowledge and abilities. He had many talents and interests. He loved Chevrolets, music, movies, cooking, and Ocean City and the Outer Banks – but most of all being with his family. Herschel was truly “one-of-a-kind”, and his unique sense of humor will be greatly missed.
The funeral Mass will be held on January 17 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria. The service will be preceded by a recitation of the Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Burial will occur on a later date.
