Hilda Marie Colwell, 64, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2024. A native of South Mississippi, Hilda will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She had a profound love for her family and friends, and her strong faith in Christ touched the lives of all around her.
Hilda was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Bell. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Colwell, and her father, Max Bell (Mae). Hilda leaves behind a cherished legacy through her children and their spouses: Bobby Warrick Jr., Jeffrey Warrick (Jackie), Steven Colwell (Ember), Christina Colwell, and Aimee Moran.
Hilda was a beloved sister to her siblings, including brothers Max Bell II (Gail) and Richard Bell (Annette), and sisters Hazel Woods (Benny) and Shannon Mitchell (Jamie), as well as her brother-in-law, Earnest Miller. Hilda was also a proud great-grandmother to Lolana, Tre, Preston Jr., Ezekiel, Izayah, Amelia, and Iris. And let’s not forget her faithful dog, Bella, who will miss her for the cuddles and all those delicious treats! Hilda is also survived by several nieces, nephews and several dear friends.
Hilda’s career as a nurse reflected her compassionate nature, always putting others first. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing darts, and absolutely loved listening to music.
In a testament to Hilda’s loving spirit, her family has chosen to donate her organs and tissue, a decision that reflects her deep commitment to helping others and her enduring legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oschner Medical Center, New Orleans, all of their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
