Hilda Nancy Moore Perkins, of Bastrop, Louisiana passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025.
A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends.
Hilda Nancy Moore Perkins was born January 21, 1943 in Bastrop, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her father, Alonzo Moore, her mother, Mildred Nelson Moore, her husband, Robert Francis Perkins, and her son, Robert Francis Perkins, Jr. (Bob) Perkins.
She is survived by her son, Warren Nelson Moore Perkins; her grandson, Wyatt Nelson Moore Perkins. She leaves behind her two great grandchildren, Piper Francis and Hayes Nelson Moore Perkins. She also leaves behind her cherished cousins, Mary Jane Williams and Tina Furlow Boardman.
She was a math teacher at Highland Elementary for 25 years, touching lives of countless students. According to her students, you definitely needed to be on your toes or face the wrath of Mrs. Perkins. She was the proud owner of River Run Antiques for many years, renowned for her expertise in estate sales and her uncanny ability to identify and describe antique furniture with remarkable knowledge.
Her love for animals was well known, often surpassing her love for people. She cherished her furry friends dearly. She often said she wished she had become a Veterinarian. She grew up with horses and was a barrel racer in her younger years. Her horses Mo and Rafter will surely feel this loss.
Nancy had an unforgettable presence. She was truly loved. Her wisdom and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
