Hillery Dale "Bobby" Young

Hillery Dale "Bobby" Young, a resident of Ethel, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by his family, as he went to his heavenly home. Bobby faithfully dedicated thirty-one and a half years of service to Texas Eastern, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. He found great joy in life's simple pleasures. Bobby had a deep appreciation for bird photography, enjoyed the harmony of Barbershop singing, and loved spending time on the golf course. He especially loved to tell jokes and had a way of bringing laughter and light to those around him. He loved being outdoors, simply enjoying God's creation, and treasured time spent with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda T. Young; his daughter, Angela Ivey and husband Ricky Ivey of Gloster, Mississippi; his son, Jason D. Young of Ethel; and his stepsons, Thomas "T-Ray" Freeman and Troy Freeman and wife Sandi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dylan Ivey, Justin Young, Jared Young, Alisia Young, Emmitt Young, Megan Vilavasso, and Sarah Freeman; and his great-grandchildren, Dally Sumerall, Natali Young, Eli Young, Raelyn McGrew, Troy Riley Vilavasso, Charlea Neely, and Elijah Neely. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alicia and Hillery Young, and his stepson, Timmy Freeman. A visitation will be held at Jackson First Baptist Church in Jackson, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 12:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Joe Neesom. Burial will follow at Eastern Star Cemetery in Wilson, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Dylan Ivey, Justin Young, Jared Young, Emmitt Young, TJ Boothe, Isaac Kendricks, Troy Freeman, and Thomas Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Trahan, Tory Neely, and his many friends and extended family whose lives he touched. Bobby will be remembered for the way he loved the Lord, his sense of humor, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved.
