Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13
On November 16, 2025, Holly Cole, aged 59, met The Good Lord face to face when she was promoted to her home in Heaven.
Born August 14, 1966 in Duluth, Minnesota, Holly's childhood was marked by struggles to find a place where she truly belonged, for her forever home. So she spent her entire adult life making sure no one she knew ever doubted they were loved. Her devoted husband, Ricky Cole, daughters Kristy (Christopher) Davis, and Jennifer (Greg) Maduro, sons Patrick (Wendy) Cole, and Randall Capes, always knew that she was their home.
Holly's grandchildren, Haley (Jake) Gragg, Logan Davis, Kaylan Ray, Brayden Maduro, Carson Maduro, Dylan Maduro, Eli Cole, Carsen Cole, and Kanliegh Cole, always knew that they had the best Mawmaw ever, so they shared her with their friends.
Her unique gifts and steadfast love for others led her to work as a caregiver, where she touched countless lives and became family, and those families are richer for having Holly part of them.
Holly loved her Good Lord Jesus with a fierce devotion, always in awe of His works. Her Sioux and Chippewa heritage, and deep faith led her outdoors, to walk and commune with Him as she rested in the peace and beauty of the earth He created.
Many years ago, Holly was diagnosed with a life-limiting disease. After that, she and the Good Lord had some hard talks on her long walks with Him and they agreed that she would fight for, and truly live, every single day He gave her here, while believing by faith that His Word is true, and His plans for her were for her good. She never backed down from life, but instead stretched herself, with longer walks, tent camping, kayaking, fishing, zip-lining, beach walking, continuing to live every single day intentionally, growing daily in her faith and trust in God, and was a powerful witness to her family and friends of the grace of God in troubles.
Holly's devout prayer for her family and all those she loves, more than health and safety, more than prosperity, more than what the world calls happiness, more than anything, was that they know Jesus as their Savior, and to think of her when the sunshine lights their faces and know that she is waiting to welcome them home.
