Homer Negrete Sr. (76) originally from Laredo,TX passed unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Homer was born to Ramiro Negrete and Guadalupe (Garcia)on February 28, 1947 in Laredo Texas.
Homer grew up in Laredo and lived there until he was drafted during the Vietnam war. After an honorable discharge from the army, Homer settled in Kyle, Texas with Mary Alice (Saucedo)and began his family. He worked for several years for the City of Kyle, and was also a member of the volunteer fire department. At a young age, Homer picked up a guitar and began his love of music. Homer played with numerous bands all over the state of Texas, even sharing his love of music and performing with his children.
After retiring, Homer could be found around town providing various lawn services or conducting meetings at his private office at Garcia's restaurant. Homer will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by both his father and mother and brothers, Samuel Negrete and Hector Negrete. Homer is survived by his children Graciella Negrete, Joe Angel Negrete (Casey), Homer Negrete Jr., Hector Negrete, (Jessica) and Ricardo Samuel Negrete (Sophia). Siblings: Ernesto Negrete, Margaret Rieman (Larry), Guadalupe Lopez, Candelario Garcia (Elena), Daniel Garcia, Christine Garcia Cuellar, and Linda Diaz. 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Joe Angel Negrete, Homer Negrete, Jr., Hector Negrete, Sr., Ricardo Negrete, Eli Negrete and Thomas Paz.
