Homer Eugene O'Nail Jr.

Homer Eugene O’Nail Jr., 81, of Reynoldsburg, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Homer was born on December 31, 1943, the son of the late Homer Eugene O’Nail Sr. and Norma (Barstow) O’Nail. He was married to the late Carolyn (Staten) O’Nail.

Homer was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a 1961 graduate of Nelsonville High School. Homer was an avid coin collector, and he enjoyed racing motorcycles. His desire for excitement never diminished, even as he aged.

Homer is survived by his sons, Gene (Linda) O’Nail and Patrick (Missy) O’Nail; grandchildren, Cory Ringer, Hayley Thomas, Gavin O’Nail, and Logan O’Nail; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Ryder Ringer; girlfriend, Glenna Keplar; sister, Sharon (Carlin “Jeep”) Carpenter; many aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Norma, and his wife, Carolyn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. A private interment will occur in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.
