Mr. Homer B. Stitcher, Jr., 73, of McDonough, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Mr. Stitcher was born July 8, 1951, in LaGrange, son of the late Homer Buford Stitcher, Sr. and Betty Ruth Koonce Stitcher. A resident of Troup County most of his life, he was a veteran of service in the U.S. Army and was Baptist by faith. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for Cummings Trucking in LaGrange.
Survivors include his son, Homer B. Stitcher III and his wife Malynda; grandson, Adam Stitcher, all of Griffin; his sisters and brothers in-law, Esther and Johnny Bolt of LaFayette, AL and Tammy and Thyrone Johnston of McDonough and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Stitcher.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Robin Lee Blair will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
