I was so saddened to read that my friend Leonard Giblin had passed away. He was truly a great judge and delightful human being. I first met him in the late 1970s when he sat multiple times as a visiting judge in Dallas, and I was a felony prosecutor with Henry Wade. I tried several cases before him, and since I lived just less than three yards or so from the Tarrant County line, and Leonard always stayed with his family at the Inn of the Six Flags in Arlington, I drove him to the Dallas County Courthouse every weekday he was in the area and got to know him well. After I became a judge, I always looked forward to reuniting with him at judicial conferences over many years and treasured his sage advice, marvelous stories, and innate goodness. He commanded universal respect from both judges and lawyers, and along with the entire Texas judiciary, I will profoundly miss him He was simply the best.
Rest in Peace, Leonard. Heaven has gained a real treasure.

My heartfelt sympathies to all of Judge Giblin´s family and friends. Like many, I benefitted tremendously from Judge Giblin´s wisdom and mentorship. He will always be honored and respected by the legal community.
