Brian Anthony Broussard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 60. Born on April 17, 1965, in Port Arthur, Texas, Brian was a proud alumnus of Nederland High School, graduating in the Class of 1983.
Before joining Motiva, Brian worked offshore for 28 years as a commercial diver, diver medic, and underwater welder, where he showcased his courage, skill, and dedication. He later built a 14-year career at Motiva as a field machinist and crane operator, where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned the respect of his colleagues.
Brian was married to his childhood sweetheart, Stefney Broussard, for a cherished 12 years. He loved and adored her deeply, and their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Brian was the proud father of his son, Austin Broussard, from a previous marriage. He and Austin shared a special bond and made many treasured memories hunting and fishing together.
When Brian and Stefney married, he also gained two adult stepchildren, Josef Trull and Ashley Herring, whom he welcomed warmly into his life. Though they were not raised together, the love and respect between them were deeply felt.
He was also lovingly known as “Papa Brian” to his grandchildren — Greyson, William, Adley, Kara Belle, Jackson, Henry, and Lena, all children of Ashley and Josef. His time with them brought him immense happiness, and his face lit up whenever he was around them.
Known for his huge heart, loving nature, and infectious sense of humor, Brian had a gift for making people feel like family. He believed that if you were his friend, you were a friend for life — and those lucky enough to call him one would agree. As many said, “Everybody loves Brian Broussard.”
Among his many interests, Brian found peace in the great outdoors, especially fishing and spending time at the lake. His fascination with “Big Foot” was a quirky trait that brought laughter to those around him, and his love for dogs reflected his compassionate spirit.
Brian leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Stefney Broussard; his mother, Norma Jean “Cookie” Goodsell; step-mother, Carolyn Broussard; son, Austin Broussard; step-son, Josef Trull (and his wife Amanda); step-daughter, Ashley Herring; grandchildren, Greyson, William, Adley, Kara Belle, Jackson, Henry, and Lena; brother, Greg Broussard; step-sisters, Melissa Warren-Mann and Monica Ewing (and her husband David); and step-brother, Gary Deese (and his wife Rebecca). He is preceded in death by his father, Dallas Broussard.
Visitation will be held on September 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. A funeral service will follow on September 18, 2025, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Brian leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him; his spirit will continue to shine brightly in their memories.
