It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Horace "Wayne" Brown, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Wayne was born on January 4, 1949, in Andalusia, AL, and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 20, 2024, in Auburn, GA. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to share stories and celebrate the life of a man who will never be forgotten.
Wayne pursued a career as an electrician for Macon Power, where his hardworking nature and reliability earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Known for his quick wit and humorous personality, Wayne brought laughter and joy to those around him. His love for fishing and riding motorcycles created many cherished memories for his family and friends. He was a man who found solace and happiness in simple pleasures, embracing the outdoors and the freedom of the open road. Wayne will be forever missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Daniel Brown and Geraldine Griswold Dewitt, his loving ex-wife Karyn Brown, and his sister, Karen Willingham.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: George (Traci) Jordan, Billy (Josie) Brown, Jennifer Brown- Gammill, and Jessica (Josh) Hannaburg; his beloved grandchildren, Cameron and Wesley Johns, Mack Brown, Jasmine Gammill, Sofi Brown, Trae Brown, and Ryder Brown; his precious sisters, Connie Firestone and Robin Shaw and his great grandchildren.
