75, of Richmond, died December 23, 2011. Surviving are her husband, Lorenzo Callis; three daughters, Nianne Wallace (Edward), Sherry Callis and Carrie Allen; six grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. After 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, remains will rest in St. John United Holy Church, 1507 N. 28th Street, where the family will received friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Mary Young officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Online guest book at www.scottsfuneralhome.com.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you, especially Anthony. I was Anthony's teacher and know how much his grandmother meant to him. I enjoyed the many conversations I shared with Mrs. Callis concerning Anthony. May GOD bless you all.

I have never seen any other expression but a smile on Aunt Hortense's face. And laughter came easy for her. I've not known her as long as I would have liked, but being around her has always been a pleasant & fun experience. To the daughters; your mother was truely an angel on earth, and will be missed by many. May God comfort you all.
