Jennings: It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share with you that on March 12, 2024, Howard John Breaux, Sr. left his earthly life to rejoice with the family and friends that went before him. Howard was born in Crowley, LA on August 24, 1949, to Mede Breaux & Mamie Lacomb Breaux. Howard worked as a Pipefitter for LeeVac Shipyard. He loved socializing, and barbequing. Most of all Howard loved spending time and making memories with all his family and friends. Howard was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Howard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Priscilla Miller Breaux; his children, Howard John Breaux (Lyn), Alvin Joseph (Stacey), Kelly Richard (Quintin), Brian Christopher (Niki), James Theodore (Angela), Doris James Trahan (Miranda); his thirteen grandchildren, & ten great grandchildren; his siblings, Joyce Newman, Louise Gary, Lucy Ardion, Ruby Benoit, Annette Richard, Jerrilyn Humble, Gena Breaux, Lawrence (Tony) Breaux.; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Mede & Mamie Breaux; his daughter, Kisha Renee Breaux; his siblings, Moise Breaux, Houston Breaux, Earl Breaux, Melvin Breaux, Hubert Breaux, Homer Breaux, Charlie Breaux, Hershell O'Dell, Guilbert Breaux, Donalene Gary, Dianne Vondinstine, Rosa Mae Waters, Easton Breaux, Leroy Breaux, Junice Clement.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, LA on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Father Schumacher officiating. Howard will be laid to rest in the LeBlanc Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA beginning on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 8:00 AM and continue until the time of his Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM.
