Howard R. Cox, 81, of Dunbarton, NH, passed away Monday July 21, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 15, 1944 in Reading, MA, a son of the late Howard G. and Evelyn (Rogers) Cox. He had been a resident of Dunbarton for the past 7 years, formerly living in Derry, Manchester, Clermont FL and Crystal River, FL. Howard proudly served his country in the US Marines where he served as a helicopter mechanic HMH461. He spent a long career as a computer programmer before pursuing a career as a corporate pilot. Howard was a member of the Rotary Club International and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pierrette "Pat" (Lesmerises) Cox; his two step-sons, Erik Bisson and Jason Bisson; his sister, Julia Simmers and husband Ronald; nieces, Kellie Reese and husband Craig and Treva Wilder; grandnephews, Ryan and Alex; as well as numerous friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his son, Tyler Gene Cox on February 10, 2021.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Monday July 28th from 9 – 10:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am in the funeral home. Burial with military Honors will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Granite VNA at https://www.granitevna.org/donate/
