Howard (Duck) Edwards Jr.
It is with heartfelt celebration and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Howard Edwards Jr., who left this world on July 21, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on December 22, 1963, in Butler, Alabama, Howard was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend, known for his big personality and an unwavering love for his family.
Howard is survived by his devoted mother, Sarah Edwards, brothers Taras Edwards and Bobby Joe Smith, his sisters, Dr. Sezandra Pinckney and Alvina Edwards. He was a loving father to his children: Sierra Dubose, Rashede Dubose, Janiah Edwards, Ebony Edwards, and Falencia Owens. Each of them carries a piece of Howard's spirit and strength within them.
To honor Howard's life and legacy, we invite family and friends to join us in a celebration of his journey. A public viewing will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on July 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM, allowing loved ones to pay their respects and share memories. A funeral service will follow at the same location on July 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where we will come together in gratitude for Howard's many contributions to our lives. We will then proceed to a graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 12:30 PM to lay him to rest.
To the entire Edwards family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences. Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort to strengthen and sustain you during your most profound time of sorrow.
