Howard Knarr Obituary
Ted was born October 25, 1938, the son of Howard Sr. and Dorothy (Dorwart) Knarr.
Ted joined the Air Force after graduation from Jersey Shore High School where he was stationed in Germany. There he met his wife, Maria. They returned to the U.S.A. as newlyweds. Ted and Maria celebrated just shy of 65 years of marriage.
Ted had a successful career with PP&L as well as retiring from the Pennsylvania National Guard, decades of service with Nisbet Volunteer Fire Department, Tiadaghton Forest Fire Association, Lycoming County Fire Police, and the Muncy V.F.W. Post 3428. Ted enjoyed 30 years of active retirement. He thought of the Fire Department as part of his family.
Ted is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Faye Schmoke, Terry and Carrol (Campbell) Knarr, Michael and Deb (Bisbee) Knarr; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held January 17, 2026, from 2-5pm at the Nisbet Volunteer Fire Department, 166 West Village Dr., Williamsport, PA 17702.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nisbet Volunteer Fire Company.
