Howard “Dutch” “Sonny” S. Lorah, Sr., 89, of Lancaster, died on October 18, 2025 after a brief illness.
He was married to the late Patricia Wilson Lorah for 53 years before her death in 2021. The son of the late Howard B. and Mary E. Lorah.
He is survived by his children Robert Lorah, Samuel Lorah, Gary Baum, Gregory (Joan) McCauley and Kari (Tim) Bost; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers; Harry, Warren, Marvin and Richard Lorah as well as his children; David Lorah, Jeffery Baum and Linda Lorah.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boston.
He was employed by Queen Dairy of Lancaster then Hammond Pretzel Bakery until his retirement.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10:00 am at Leacock Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 3181 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA 17562.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA, 17604.
