WATCH/VIEW- Robert Lorah Service
Memorial service for Robert R. Lorah, age 86, of
Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Lorah passed away Friday evening, January 30, 2026, at his home.
Robert Raymond Lorah was born on July 22, 1939, in
Chattanooga, OK, to Waller Clayton Lorah and Eva Catherine (Coursey) Lorah. He attended High School in
Chattanooga, OK, and graduated with the class of 1957.
Robert was an avid basketball player and loved watching the Warriors play throughout his life. Robert married Glenda Morton on September 29, 1962.
He served in the United States Army as a Surveyor, served overseas in Korea, and was honorably discharged in 1967, reaching the rank of E5.
Robert was baptized into Christ and became an active member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in
Frederick, OK.
He was a Math, Computer, and Drivers Education teacher as well as a coach for Frederick Public Schools for 28 years. He also taught many classes at the Vo-Tech, helping seniors learn basic computer skills. After retirement, he served as a custodian for his Church and worked at the Frederick Municipal Airport.
Robert was a skilled woodworker, farmer, home gardener, skier, cyclist, hiker, pilot, traveler, and quiet servant. Robert loved his family. He was an encourager and supporter of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was at every family gathering, performance, concert, race, and game that he could possibly attend. In fact, he was a fixture on the sidelines of Elgin Football while three grandsons took their turn as quarterback of the team.
Robert spent a lot of time with his family in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and knew many of the hidden paths and landmarks. After his wife, Glenda, passed away in 2014, he often spent several days a week with hiking groups of all ages.
Robert is survived by one daughter, Renee Lorah Cotten and her husband Jerry of Edmond; one son, Curtis Lorah and his wife Tomi of Elgin; two sisters, Imogene Booher of
Cache, OK and Frances Goodknight of Grandfield, OK; seven grandchildren, Jed Allen Lovejoy and wife Shiloh of Paducah, KY, Krystin Amanda Kinsaul and husband Kyle of Edmond, Jacqueline Alyssa Melter and husband David of Bethel Acres, Garrett Kerr Lorah and wife Tristan of Oklahoma City, Brett Ryan Lorah of Elgin, Tres Daniel Lorah of Elgin, and Drevon Kaywaykla of Lawton; one step grandson, Jeremy Cotten and wife Samantha of Claremore; ten great-grandchildren, Judah Lovejoy, Asher Lovejoy, Skylann Melter, Trexton Melter, Gad Lovejoy, Graham Lorah, Tate Lorah, Harlow Manriquez and Kameron Kinsaul; and one step great-grandson Hunter Cotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waller Clayton and Eva; six siblings, Clifford Lorah, Cecil Lorah, Geraldine Bourlier, Catherine Plante, Eugene Lorah, and Evelyn Mize; and his wife, Glenda, of 52 years.
