Howard Patrick Montgomery

Funeral services for Howard Patrick Montgomery, 65, of Waldron, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home, with Brother Madison Caffey officiating. Interment to follow at Coffeeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 9:00 am prior to the service.

Howard was born on June 14, 1960, in Gilmer, Texas, to Howard Junior Montgomery and Juanita Louise Murrell Montgomery, and passed from this life on January 29, 2026, in Waldron, Arkansas.

Howard proudly served our country in the United States Army. He married Penny Meagley on August 17, 1987, and was a painter for many years before his retirement. Together, he and Penny enjoyed watching drag racing and were fortunate to see Brittany Force break a record. They traveled to many National Parks, and their favorite was Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Penny Montgomery; sons, Andy Montgomery, Clint Montgomery, J. T. Montgomery, and A. J. Montgomery; daughter, C. J. Montgomery Thompson; sisters, Donna Montgomery and Elaine Files; and his grandchildren, Dylan Laverty, Autumn Crutcher, Andrew Montgomery, Blake Montgomery, Peyton Montgomery, Patrick Montgomery, Alysia Montgomery, Ashlan Montgomery, Karlee Montgomery, Hinley Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Autumn Montgomery, Bojesse Thompson, Oliver Thompson, and Arlen Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Juanita Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Clint Montgomery, J. T. Montgomery, A. J. Montgomery, John Allen, Tom Allen, and Josie Thompson.
