Howard Van Oss, age 91, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 23, 2023.
Howard was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Holland. He found great joy in building houses throughout the area. Having worked in home construction for many years, he would frequently say, "I got a lot of hammer marks in this town." He was a man of great faith and was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, which showed through his faithful visits to them.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; and his siblings: John (Theresa) Van Oss, Jean (Jerold) Hulst, Trudy (Steve) Langejans, Gertrude (Art) Wolters.
He is survived by his children: Kathy (Keith) Mokma, Calvin (Jane) Van Oss, Charles (Amy) Van Oss, Karen Van Oss, Kristy (Alan) Brown; grandchildren: Jennifer (James) Addessi, Matt (Reba) Mokma, Rob (Paige) Mokma, Jeffery (Jessica) Van Oss, David (Katelyn) Van Oss, Phillip (Heather) Van Oss, Ryan Van Oss, Allie (Kyle) De Boer, Brice (Emma) Van Oss, Amy Brown; and 16 beloved great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA), 1015 East 32nd St. Holland. The funeral service, with Rev. Kenneth Klett officiating, will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, also at the church. Burial will be in East Holland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA).

Otto and I send condolences to the family and are praying for God's comfort.
We enjoyed knowing Howard at church, helping him when he helped to build the classrooms in the church basement and also time with him when we drove him to see Joan at Hospice. Otto enjoyed the time at Thursday breakfasts as well.
