Thomas Van Oss, age 61, of Milaca, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023.Thomas was born on March 9, 1962 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Edina High School in 1981. While attending college, he enlisted and served in the Army National Guard. Thomas was a trained machinist and retired from the family business, Micro Machine in the fall of 2021. Although retired, he never slowed down between his projects and substitute teaching with a local public school.
He touched many lives with his generous heart and passion for life. Throughout the years, he was known for expressing his sense of humor by wearing colorful and silly shirts. Thomas was a very loving father to his daughter, Sophia and her partner.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Thomas was very involved at his church and loved to serve the Lord. He is fondly remembered as someone who could create anything and everything.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Sophia; mother, Mary; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Therese, Michael and Robin, Gregg, and David and Leisa; girlfriend, Jeannie and many, many friends. He was proceeded in death by his father, Joseph and brother, Steve.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Burial with full military honors will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
