Thomas Frank Miller

Thomas Frank Miller (Tom) of Orono, MN, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy marked by quiet generosity, pursuit of knowledge, and creative business problem-solving.

Tom was born on August 7, 1952, in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Francis and Laila (Held) Miller. He graduated from Edina High School in 1969 where he played varsity basketball and was on the State Championship team. Tom earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from St. John's University in Collegeville, MN and his law degree from the University of MN, Minneapolis.

Professionally, Tom built a distinguished career in the law for nearly 50 years. He was the owner of the Law Office of Thomas F. Miller, P.A., where he represented clients facing complex financial challenges. Many of his clients became close friends and vital members of his support group this past year as he faced health challenges.

Tom's heart was firmly anchored in Minneapolis, where he lived his whole life. He had a strong passion for learning and had an extensive book collection and ham radio studio, a pursuit made visible by the several 15-foot antennas dotting his yard. He loved being on the water, owning and enjoying boats throughout his life. He also loved flying and was instrument-rated. He was fascinated by both civil and military aviation. Travel was also a passion for him, and there were always more places he wanted to see.

Tom had a strong faith and loved his church in Minneapolis - Church of All Saints, which he regularly attended. Tom was a proud father, big brother, and friend to many. Tom is survived by sons Alex (Devin) Miller and Matt (MaryJane) Crowley, his sisters Sue (John Tully) Miller, Kate (Ken) Baar, and Patti (Carlton Burr) Shea, and grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on January 15th at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel from 5-7pm and a Funeral Mass on January 16th at the Church of All Saints in Minneapolis at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Tom will be remembered as a man whose passions reflected a life well lived. His legacy endures in the friends and family he loved, the clients he served, and the many lives touched by his wisdom and generosity.
