Hoyt Lambert passed at age 77 on April 29, 2025. Born in Chula, GA in 1947. He had 9 brothers and sisters. He moved to Jacksonville at a young age. He is a graduate of Ribault Senior High School. Hoyt was married and shared 3 children, Robert Darrell Lambert, Hoyt Dwayne Lambert, and Deanna Renee' Gray, with ex-wife Elaine Purdy. In 1967, he served in the Vietnam War conflict, where he earned several medals before going on to join the Army National Guard and served for 25 years.
Hoyt was saved and born again by the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 15 in an at-home church visitation night. He left this note for his family: "I hope and pray my entire family comes to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their life. For Death is just the Beginning of Life". He is survived by Darrell, Deanna, his 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Nan, Libby, and brother Lewis.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11 am in the Chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL,32218.
The Family will receive friends starting at 10 am at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, Lane# 3 at 1:30 pm
